Introduces general concepts and basic principles of financial accounting. Applications include the accounting cycle, internal control, reporting the results of operations and financial position.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate an understanding of basic financial statements, their nature, purposes, and use by business decision makers
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of general accounting concepts and processes
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze the impact of basic transactions on the financial statements of a business
- Demonstrate the ability to construct a balance sheet, an income statement, and a statement of equity for an economic entity
- Critical Thinking: Demonstrate the ability to evaluate the financial performance of an economic entity on the basis of its financial statements
