Description
A foundation course for students in the Department of Business. Organizations are examined as they relate to the economic system. Included are topics such as supervision, marketing, finance, production, employee regulations, international business, and union-management relations. Theoretical principles of management and organization are also covered.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Identify the difference between capitalism and other economic systems
- Demonstrate an understanding of the role of business in society
- Identify the need for ethics in business
- Identify the role of government in business as it pertains to laws, regulations, and taxes
- Demonstrate a basic knowledge of management principles
- Use basic research techniques to locate a variety of sources
