Description
An analysis of European development in the twentieth century. Emphasis is placed on intellectual, political, economic, and social factors. Special attention is given to the World Wars I and II, the Cold War, fascism, communism, the rise of the dictators, and possibilities for this century.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Students will demonstrate knowledge and awareness of the events and effects of World War I, World War II, and the Cold War and their role in the history of Europe
- Students will examine intellectual, political, economic cultural and social aspects of Europe in the 20th century
- Students will recognize the effects of the rise of dictatorships and their consequences
Prerequisites
3 semester hours in social science.
