Description
Develops those skills needed by today’s technicians to diagnose, service, and repair the electrically and/or electronically operated systems of automobiles. Topics covered include basic electrical and electronic principles and components, electrical wiring diagrams, the battery, starting, and charging systems. Component location and system operation will be stressed.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Student will demonstrate proper safety and professional ethical practices necessary prior to working in the Automotive Shop Environment
- Student will demonstrate his/her knowledge of electrical circuit construction and testing
- Student will demonstrate his/her knowledge of battery construction and testing
- Student will demonstrate his/her knowledge of the starting system construction, testing and diagnosis
- Student will demonstrate his/her knowledge of the charging system construction, testing and diagnosis
