Description
An introduction to physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional development occurring from conception through adolescence. Topics include personality and identity, moral and social development, language development, changes in cognition, and intelligence.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate an understanding of the major theories of child and adolescent development, historically and today
- Demonstrate an understanding of the development of the cognitive realm, language, intelligence, the emotional realm and self-identity
- Demonstrate an understanding of basic research methods including experimentation, time span designs, and other methods of data collection
